The Gerald Hardy Memorial Society, a local charity, is a non-profit organization providing jobs, skills and work experience to adults with intellectual disabilities and mental health concerns. Our mission is to assist adults learn meaningful life skills.
In May 2011, the Society proudly opened its doors to their Thrift Store offering quality clothing for everyone in the family, shoes, household items, books, CD's, DVD's, VHS and cassette tapes, games, material, yarn, etc.
2015 introduced our new branding - We are pleased to announce our Thrift Shop now has a name, 'Cascade Thrift Shop'. A few years ago, we started out with a few donations of clothes, which we would pass on to others. As the word spread, more clothes and items came to our doors, renovations took place, all cascading into a wonderful opportunity to serve our communities in many aspects. Cascades became a training program for clients of our Society to develop workplace and social skills. In July, 2015, Gerald Hardy Memorial Society introduced an addition to Cascades with 'The Arts Room' featuring the talents of several local artisans from Seacoast Trail Arts Association and the surrounding communities. Be sure to check the assortment of photography, paintings, handmade jewellery, Christmas ornaments, wooden toys, painted chairs, dream catchers, quilted and knitted/crocheted crafts.
